Health Level Seven (HL7, an international health data exchange standards development organization) is one of the stakeholders of BRIDG. In particular, the BRIDG Model is a project under the HL7 Biomedical Research and Regulation Work Group (BR&R WG). BRIDG serves as its domain information model and is intended to provide the semantic foundation to the artifacts developed by this WG. Members of the WG participate by contributing semantics to BRIDG, balloting the model and voting on proposed changes. These participants include representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory agencies, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), clinical research organization (CROs), consultants, and academia. This work group also uses BRIDG to inform its effort of representing the domain of clinical research in the evolving Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
